Highlights

  • On the 17th of August 2020, 417 new confirmed cases and 2 deaths were recorded in Nigeria
  • Till date, 49485 cases have been confirmed, 36834 cases have been discharged and 977 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory
  • The 417 new cases are reported from 17 states- Lagos(207), Kaduna(44), Ondo(38), Abia(28), Anambra(21), Plateau(20), Bauchi(13), Oyo(9), Ebonyi(9), Delta(7), Edo(7), Enugu(6), Niger(3), Gombe(2), Ogun(1), FCT(1) and Kano(1)
  • A multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC), activated at Level 3, continues to coordinate the national response activities

  Chief Olusegun Obasanjo was born in Abeokuta on March 5, 1937, in South West Nigeria. He is a Nigerian military and political leader who served as military head of state from 1976 to 1979 and later as President of Nigeria from 1999 to 2007. Ideologically a Nigerian nationalist. Chief Obasanjo is not only a retired army officer, former head of state and politician, he is also a successful farmer. He owns Ota Farm, which is also called Obasanjo Farms. The large farm was formally opened on October 8, 1979, a week after Obasanjo handed over power to a civilian administration on October 1, 1979. At inception, the farm took off as Temperance Enterprises Limited (Farming Venture). It later became Obasanjo Farms Nigeria Limited. 75 Years Harvard Study Reveals the Ingredients to True Happiness

In a recent TED talk, Psychiatrist Robert Waldinger described some of the secrets to happiness, which were revealed in a recently released 75-year-long Harvard study. For over 75 years, Harvard’s Grant and Glueck study has tracked the physical and emotional health of two groups: 456 poor people in Boston from 1939 to 2014 (the Grant Study) 268 graduates from Harvard’s classes of 1939–1944 (the Glueck study) After following these groups and testing them (e.g., blood samples, brain scans) for several decades, the findings have been compiled. Here’s the conclusion: “The clearest message that we get from this 75-year study is this: Good relationships keep us happier and healthier.
